We are delighted to announce that Stephen Woods who is one of our Sales Account Managers at our Grimsby branch celebrates his 20th Anniversary today!
Steve has been the friendly face of the Grimsby branch, bringing an unrivalled customer experience to the LEW Grimsby customers.
We sat down with Steve for a quick Q & A on his time with us and where he sees the industry going in the coming years!
Stephen Woods- many congratulations on your 20 years service at LEW, what’s been your highlight of your time?
SW: The 20 years have flown by seeing the Grimsby branch grow from an acorn to an oak tree. It’s great being at a company where everyone works together.
What have you enjoyed the most about working at LEW?
SW: Working for a family business and seeing the company grow into what it is today. You’re more than just a number here, the Group Managers know everyone here personally and that’s something that has continued as the company has grown.
What do you think is the biggest change you’ve seen?
SW: Our new ERP system was brought in a year ago, and you can see how it’s going to take the company forward. It’s important to adapt to customers buying habits and LEW are looking ahead to that with the new system.
What advice would you give to an apprentice starting out in Electrical Wholesale?
SW: Electrical distribution has been my life for the past 44 years. If you are willing to work hard and learn, you can make a good career and LEW will reward you. Listening to your colleagues, some of which, have been there and done it, will land you in good stead. There’s been several examples of apprentices here that are moving up the ladder, so the proof is there that it can be a very rewarding career.
